Family Health Isis

Family Health Isis  is based at The Lee Centre, in the London Borough of Lewisham. The Organisation has been going for over 25 years.  Our services targets people from the African/African Caribbean community, who have been experiencing mental health Challenges.

The uniqueness of FHI stems from the fact that we are an organisation that can work within an African/African Caribbean framework.

This effectively means that the workers, Board of Directors and volunteers all have

• an understanding and awareness of the history of African/Caribbean people, the effects of institutional racism,

• lifestyles and culture awareness

• a consciousness of the interaction between African/African Caribbean people within the family

• as well as the consciousness of the relationship between friends, teachers and being aware of the influences these have on people

• and the dynamics of the Black child in its psychological development
